CTIW: cues, questions, & organizers, cooperative learning, non-lingustic representation

ques, questions and organizers
for this chapter we went over ques, questions, and organizers. A cue is a hint to students about what the lesson would be about. They reinforce information that students already know and provide new information on the lesson. questions are asked to see what the students have learn in previous lessons. organizers help students search for topics that are going to be learned. for this lesson our activity was about numbers. we learned about even and odd numbers. we also did a worksheet on odd and even numbers which gave us a little idea of what we were going to learn.

cooperative learning
Cooperative learning is a method of instruction that has students working together in groups, usually with the goal of completing a specific task. this provides opportunities for students to interact in ways that can make their learning better. it also gives students an environment for the students to understand their lessons they learned. there are 5 elements for cooperative learning:
Positive Interdependence, Face-to-Face Promotive Interaction, Individual and Group Accountability, Interpersonal and Small-Group Skills, Group Processing. our activity for this lesson was to write some things about ourself and recite them to our classmates so that they would be comfortable around us and so that they didnt think we are strangers.

nonlinguistic representation
for this chapter we learned about noningustic representation, which also means that the imagery expressed as mental pictures or physical sensations. it provides students with tools that will make their learning in the classroom better and undertandable. some ways to instruct nonlingustic representations is to create graphic organizers, make physical models, generate mental pictures, make illustrations, and engage in kinestetic activities. for our activity they gave us words to draw about. like the word beautiful, super, and danger. so i drew a flower for beautiful, superman for super and a gun for danger.
